Positions

Note: Our group has grown rapidly so please check with me before submitting an application or cover letter.

We are always excited to connect with curious and motivated scientists at the undergraduate, PhD, and postdoc level! Our lab brings together many disciplines, including molecular biology, genetics, evolution, and behavior. Candidates with speaking skills in Spanish and from diverse scientific and personal backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.

Before applying, read more about our lab culture and expectations here. You can also check out pictures and videos of the lab here.

Stanford undergraduates

We have positions available for undergraduate researchers to work in the fish room, lab, and occasionally the field. We also have many computational biology projects for students with background in computer science or bioinformatics. All undergraduate positions in our lab group are paid. To apply, send me a resume that includes relevant coursework, work or research experience, a statement of research interests, and the contact information of two references.

Prospective graduate students

We are recruiting graduate students to join our group with interests in molecular biology, population genetics, and evolution. Please send me a CV (including relevant coursework and research experience) and a short description of your research interests. I accept students through the Stanford Biology Department, which has an application deadline in late November (https://biology.stanford.edu/academics/phd-program/admissions).

Prospective postdocs

We seek highly motivated postdocs with interests in population genetics and evolution, with strong bioinformatics, quantitative or experimental backgrounds. To apply please e-mail me a CV, a description of your research interests and goals for your postdoctoral training, a description of your background and experience, as well as the names and contact information of three references.
